After all, the Bible god lost control over the very being that he created, had the Bible god been totally in control in Heaven, Satan would not have became envious or jealous.

Stay tuned, there's more to come!

Maybe next, The Lamb of GodSteven Bently IIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03098850506786185130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5246253500962288290.post-3414991897220517052008-04-19T17:13:00.000-04:002008-04-19T17:13:00.000-04:00"Many forget that Adam was standing right beside E..."Many forget that Adam was standing right beside Eve. He could have said no, could have tried to convince her otherwise, could have walked away...one of the biggest misconceptions is that it was strictly her fault."

god certainly seemed to think Eve was more at fault, judging by the punishments meted out.

"Your approach to theology seems to be that if you can not understand it, it must be either moronic or wrong."

I can't speak for the author, but the stories of the Bible simply don't make sense, period. It's not that I can't understand, it's that properly understood they still don't make sense. That doesn't necessarily make them wrong, but it certainly makes it rather unlikely that an omni-max god authored them.

"If a man/woman pledges his/her undying love to you, do you believe him/her or do you need absolute proof?"

I would be skeptical if I had not already received some type of evidence that this was the case. Let's face it, if someone you didn't know simply walked up and pledged their undying love, you would be skeptical too. And, no this doesn't mean "absolute proof" is necessary. Xianity has no evidence what-so-ever, so asking for absolute proof seems like overkill. OTOH, one would think an omni-max god could provide it.

"If you do not completely understand a subject...math, biology, etc., does that mean that it is wrong?"

No, but I don't agree with your initial assertion that led to this, so it's not a very good analogy.

"Oh, and you are right...it is just you."

No, actually it isn't just him, considering that the majority of the world is not Xian.GCThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09744295225958022872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5246253500962288290.post-62297607498888880792008-04-19T16:21:00.000-04:002008-04-19T16:21:00.000-04:00Many forget that Adam was standing right beside Ev...Many forget that Adam was standing right beside Eve. He could have said no, could have tried to convince her otherwise, could have walked away...one of the biggest misconceptions is that it was strictly her fault.

Your approach to theology seems to be that if you can not understand it, it must be either moronic or wrong.

Carrying this logic over to everything else in life...

If a man/woman pledges his/her undying love to you, do you believe him/her or do you need absolute proof?

If you do not completely understand a subject...math, biology, etc., does that mean that it is wrong?

I could go on and on.

Plato once warned against the following...the more we tend to know about a particular subject (you and I working in the legal profession), the more we tend to think we know about everything else (your arguments are always structured as if you are in a court of law).

Way back "in the day" as I entered the profession, I reminded myself that the rest of the world does not hold our profession in very high esteem.

My point is this, if you want to sound more convincing, write something that sounds a bit more "outside" the courtroom.

Oh, and you are right...it is just you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
