Immersion Therapy for Whom?

Really?

I'm struggling to find the words to adequately express myself here, so I think I'll simply say that only religion can lead to such an effed up situation.

Do you know who never seems to struggle for words?

The delightfully charming Shirley Phelps Roper. She's old Fred's daughter, and one of my absolute favorite crazies from the Westboro Bat-shit Church.

Those women who carry the signs are always yelling at people! Aren't they supposed to embrace a super-literal interpretation of the filthy book?

Like, how do they feel about First Timothy, 2:12?

---"I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet."

Because, these ladies are anything but quiet! They scream at men, and lecture men, all the time!

Oh, wait a minute!

At first, I didn't even see the link to the story about the pastor having sex with boys to purify them!

Religious people use their religion as a "get out jail free" card. They don't actually have to think about what's right or wrong, because all their thinking has already be done for them. It's all in the book!

Any crime is fine, as long as you say "Praise Jesus!" after you're finished.

It makes sense that people who embrace a totalitarian dictator philosophy (priests) so frequently feel entitled to victimize the powerless (children).

I guess, if you light enough candles and mumble the right words to yourself, you can do whatever you please. You can justify anything to yourself. This jerk has actually convinced himself that molesting children is doing them a favor. Amazing.
