How Jesus Works Out

"Lord’s Gym, a 10,000 square foot fitness center . . . meshes prayer and push-ups. The gym offers classes including “Yogod,” its take on yoga. . . . Spaghetti-strap tank tops and short shorts are not allowed. . . . Per Heistad, who travels often for business and is a self-described gym rat, said he did not feel entirely comfortable in other gyms anymore. “I don’t need anything to lead me into temptation,” Mr. Heistad said. “I can get there on my own.” Merri Bush, 42, who is a member with her daughter, Christyna Askey, 21, said [that] . . . the two of them walk on the treadmill each morning while they read and discuss the Bible. Ms. Askey said, “It’s cool to be able to do that and not have people say, ‘What are you doing?’ ” —The Times."

I think I can control my lusts a little better than that Mr. Heistad. I mean, I can look at a woman in shorts and drool alittle, but I can hold myself back so that I don't have to jump her bones. Sheesh!

I been to the gym before and I've never seen anyone stop someone from reading or discussing the bible. If I had, I'd never go there again, because people have the right to read their little magic books, even in public.

Remember Robert, that Jesus convicts people on the basis of thought crime. So, seeing a woman in shorts and thinking that she's pretty means you're going to hell.

True. I have pointed that out myself many times. Thanks for reminding me. I've been thinking critically for so long, I've forgotten what it was like to be a fundy mental. (Maybe, that's a good thing.)

Wow....just wow....I can't believe you didn't use their picture in your post. The mural of the jesus horse thing in the background saying "I am coming soon" is amazing........

The mural quotes Revelation 3:11

"Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."

Appearently quickly is a couple thousand years or so.

Well think about it, 1,000 years is a day with the Lord. A few days seems pretty quickly to me. Ever considered that years are shorter/longer on other planets?

Yeah duh Robert Madewell. You were just trying to make this whole bible thing sound so ridiculous and then anonymous just waltzed in here with the wind and slapped you in the face with all kinds of common sense.

I completely understand now. God didn't mean quickly for us, he meant quickly for him which would mean thousands of years of human suffering and events like Hiroshima would happen before he decides to quit dilly dallying and come down here and get his rapture on.
