This is my first post here and I'd like to thank Mr. X for giving me an opportunity to share some of my thoughts. I'll just jump right in.
Why do theists - usually those who reject evolution - consider god to be the default condition? A recent commenter asked whether man can create life from dirt (only the Bible says it did); so to prove evolution dirt has to be made. I assume that this means he'll keep his god belief until such time, but why? Why is god belief the default for theists? If science has an unanswered question, is it god? This is fallacious reasoning surely?
To address this specific example, we know how the Earth formed - which has nothing to do with evolution. Why is this not enough? Should forensic scientists have to kill someone in the lab to prove that a murder happened? Of course not, so why should scientists have to re-create the universe in order to prove that the Earth isn't 6000 years old?

Is it the actual world that is 6000yrs old, or is that just mankind?
We know there were creatures that lived for millions of years before man! Could you please clear that statment up.
Fossils of mankind's earliest ancestor have been found in Kenya and dated at 6 million years old. The Earth is eastimated to be 4.5 billion years old, and the universe about ten billion years older than that.

The proof is in just about any astronomy textbook you care to pick up. We have numerous radioactive isotope dating methods, we have evidence from light measurements from distant stars, we have the fossil record, etc. etc. etc. There's an overwhelming abundance of evidence, much more than Genesis 1.
Astronomy, radiology, evoloutionary-biology, geology, chemistry, cosmology, anatomy, meteorology; any more?

The goal of these men are obvious--Let us not waste time with foolish arguments and long defenses. This has been going on for nearly 2000 years. Let us continue to build each other up in our most holy faith, keeping our eyes upward and our minds on things above. Those who are drawn to Christ will find him, for He finds all of His lost sheep.
But these men are not open to dialogue, only ridicule and persecution. Indeed, their knowledge puffs them up, and they will only continue to try and put us to shame with their tests, their questions and their fine sounding arguments. Let us be like sheep and remain silent and dumb.
Brothers and sisters, the Son of Man is coming--let no man tell you otherwise--and when He is revealed from the heavens with power and glory, our hope and vindication will be made manifest. Keep your eyes on the shepherd of your souls.

Yes, make sure that you don't think, but simply believe!

This is demonstrably false, unless you wish to assert that "all of his lost sheep" are the select few that believe and also go to heaven.

Actually, I much prefer dialogue to ridicule and persecution...I mean why would I want to be ridiculed or persecuted?

Let us be like Ostriche's and hide our heads into the sand, because we do not want to know the truth, we sheep need to be led around so that the preachers can bilk us out of our hard earned money, Amen!
