Enjoy Your Life?
If Xians enjoy their life and think that Jesus wants them to, they haven't read the Bible very well. In Luke 16, the parable of the rich man contradicts this - rich man is sent to hell while Lazarus goes to heaven. (What is Lazarus doing in Abraham's bosom? Doesn't god frown on gayness like that?) The only explanation for this is that the rich man had a good life on Earth, so he's being punished for it. Lazarus gets to go to heaven because he had a rough life. So, if you are a Xian and you have a good life, what does that tell you? If Jesus wants you have fun then he wants you to go to hell, according to his parable.

Jesus supposedly told everyone to sell all that you have and give to the poor. "Do not store thy treasures on earth, but up in heaven..etc."
Now you've gave all your earthly belongings to someone else and now you're poor...ha ha

Maybe he was suckling on ole Abe's breastes, how people can bring themselves to believe such shit is beyound me.
If Lazarus was raised from the dead, surely he would have spoke a few words like, wow look at all the neat clothes you have on, or what year is this, or sorry I'm naked, my clothes have completely rotten away, or is there a bathroom near by, something, anything worth noting, but nah, it's all got to be true.
Thanks for the chuckle. It's the craziest bunch of jibberish, I've read in a long time.
You see, you have no understanding of the Bible at all. You see the outward appearances when in truth, it's the condition of the heart.
As in this story, it wasn't what the man owned, it was the condition of his heart. And that, my friend, is where it's all AT.
Crazy bunch of gibberish! Not like Jonah and the Whale then! I think your comment would sound much more intelligent five-hundred years ago.
"Thanks for the chuckle. It's the craziest bunch of jibberish, I've read in a long time."
Which points specifically? Your rebuttal arguments are? And they are supported with what?
"You see, you have no understanding of the Bible at all. You see the outward appearances when in truth, it's the condition of the heart."
Do the words on the page mean different things depending on what mood you are in or what you want to believe?
"As in this story, it wasn't what the man owned, it was the condition of his heart. And that, my friend, is where it's all AT."
And, your support for this is what? Jesus tells people to give away their riches so that they can have their reward in heaven. He never tells them to live in the spirit of poor-ness. Nor does the story lend any credence to what you want it to say.
Even if it did mean that, what specifically about the rich man's heart was bad? All we know of him is that he acquired wealth. We know not how. We also know that he cried from the agony that god put him in while he was in hell and was rebuked because he was rich.
Yes, and if Lazarus really was raised from the dead why does nobody else mention it? Why didn't he write about his own experiences? Instead, we are all left in the dark. What was the point of it, exactly?
This is just another one of those parables that sucks big time. What's so wrong with riches, if you use them responsibly? Maybe Jesus was jealous of those who had more money than him. Or did he really exist?
